Purchase of Castle Park Golf Course

I wish to announce that Castle Park Golf Course was purchased on Friday 27th February by Pamela Wilson and Craig McLachlan. They will have operational control in a few weeks and aim to put their business plan into place. I have spoken with the new owners of Castle Park Golf Course and they have outlined their main aims for Castle Park:

    •    New clubhouse completed by Aug/Sept.

    •    Development of the course & driving range.

    •    Membership for 2015: £100.

    •    Membership for 2016: circa £400.

Their intention is to have the course available to play but as as a social golf course for 2015, whilst the work on the clubhouse and course takes place. Pamela and Craig understand that the majority of members have joined other courses but would like to invite all members to return to Castle Park this year and enjoy playing social golf with their friends where they will be able to see first hand the improvements and development of Castle Park.

The committee realise that at the last EGM the members voted to move Castle Park Golf Club to Haddington Golf Club. However, the committee now feel that we could not run a club at Haddington if there is a golf course in East Lothian with the name of Castle Park. I have discussed this issue with Haddington Golf Club and they would also feel uncomfortable with that scenario.

It is therefore the intention of the Committee to organise an EGM for Tuesday 17th March at 7pm, at the Tweeddale Arms Hotel, Gifford. The meeting will be open to all members of Castle Park Golf Club as at 31st January 2015.

The main point to be discussed and voted on will be the location of “Castle Park Golf Club”.

Pamela Wilson and Craig McLachlan will also present their plans for the development for Castle Park and will be available to answer questions.

I hope to see as many members as possible, who wish to be involved with the future of Castle Park Golf Club, attend the EGM.

Regards
